Crown Lengthening

Crown lengthening involves removing excess gum tissue, usually accompanied by removal of the supporting bone, in order to make teeth look longer. This can be used to treat "gummy" smiles as well as balancing uneven gum lines in order to produce a more aesthetically pleasing smile and facilitating composite bonding treatment.

Crown lengthening may also be performed to support the placement of a crown on a tooth that may otherwise not be suitable due to a lack of suitable tooth structure or deep decay resulting in a lack of access.
